-
Q: Can Dr. Arrieta become my primary care provider?A: Dr. Arrieta focuses on integrative medicine and functional medicine, and therefore is not considered a primary care provider. This means that you must have another physician to provide primary care and should you have an emergency, you should contact your primary care physician or call 911.
-
Q: Why is it necessary to come unscented to our clinic?A: Many of our patients and staff are chemically sensitive to scents, perfumes lotions, and hair gel. We ask you that you refrain from wearing scented products on the day of your visit as we have found that scents linger and render the room unusable for the next patient, who may be very chemically sensitive. You may be asked to reschedule if you have a scent on at time of visit.
-
Q: How do you protect my medical privacy?A: We abide by the HIPAA Privacy Rule, the national standard to protect individuals’ medical records and other personal health information. This applies to health plans, health care clearinghouses, and those health care providers that conduct certain health care transactions electronically.
-
Q: Can Dr. Arrieta prescribe medications such as antibiotics and bio-identical hormones?A: Yes, Dr. Arrieta can prescribe medications as needed to support your body in healing itself.
-
Q: Can I bring a friend or family member to the visit?A: Yes, you are encouraged to bring a trusted support person who can help you get all of your concerns addressed and help you remember treatment plans.
-
Q: How long will it take me to recover?A: Each individual is different, some are better in months, others heal more slowly over several years. We are here to see you through your journey however long it takes.
-
Q: Do you process insurance?A: No, Integrative Healthcare of Winona is considered an out-of-network medical provider and does not participate with insurance plans; however, we will provide you with a claim form that you can file with your insurance company, as some may provide reimbursement. Payment is to be made at the time of service and we request that you come prepared to do so. Dr. Arrieta spends time taking a careful history, doing a complete physical exam, and reviewing past records and, then contemplating possible solutions for you. These differences are not reflected in the insurance billing system.
-
Q: Can I file my claim with Medicare?A: Dr. Arrieta has opted out of Medicare, which extends to Medicaid and Champus. Medicare patients can go to other providers who will provide health care under their insurance plan. If a Medicare recipient enters into a private contract, then they agree to pay fee for service, and they may not submit their bill to Medicare for reimbursement. Please call us if you want information about entering into a private contract.
